"The number of Americans whose electricity or natural gas has been shut off for nonpayment of their bills is up sharply in many parts of the country as people struggle with higher prices and a shaky economy.

Shut-offs are running 17% higher than last year among customers of New York state's major utilities and 22% higher in Michigan. They are up in dozens of other states, including California, Pennsylvania and Florida, according to an Associated Press check of regulators and energy companies.

Despite efforts by state and federal governments, utilities and private groups to help people avoid shut-offs this winter, some worry that the problem will only get worse.

Southern California Edison Co., with 4.5 million residential electric customers, reported residential terminations were up 10% through August of this year to 228,000; Westar Energy Inc. of Topeka, Kan., said it saw a 19.5% increase over the same period; and Tampa Electric Co. reported a 19% climb in disconnect orders through June for residential and commercial customers.

Meanwhile, people who rely on heating oil instead of natural gas or electricity to warm their homes are pleading for relief from high fuel prices.

Shut-offs often are brief, and the numbers can include customers whose service was shut off more than once."

So the whole deal is that, we're facing so much of not being able to pay the bills for our utilities such as, Electricity, Natural Gas, Water...
so what yo do if you feel like you might reaching this point.

Invest, and talk to your community, get with your neighbors and help each other out to get solar energy soucers, and work with each other...
same with food problems, come to conclusions with your community and neighbors and see how can everyone help each other.

but i'm hoping some poeple are now starting to realize that no matter what who got elected, the US is fucked up enought not get out of this situation soon...

Yeah, good thing that Obama got selected, but you guys know he wont be takin charge til Jan 20th right!?

THATS A LONG TIME FROM NOW!!!
and the way the ecomy has been going down, and still rocketing down hill....it might not be able to last.
So please People, read some real information, get yourself psychologically ready, and mentally ready for the things that are coming our way.

I also found news about a lady that killed her self because of mortage payments, she couldnt handle the pressure. and thats why i say...get mentally ready for it.

Sad to hear she had to take her life for the fault of greedy fucks in the gov. may she rest in PEACE now.

(this is a bit longer, so please check it out, very informative)

Utilities are being shut-off (Electricity, Water, natural Gas) Empty Inevitabilities

People are really trying to be unrealistically optimistic in the hope that a miracle will occur or something wild like that.

Wake up out of your apathy! Realize that no politician is going to save you. Your government isn't going to save you. And unless you start taking actions to prepare YOU won't be able to save yourself.

This winter we WILL, without a doubt, start to see the beginnings of a trend which we will deal with until the end, or until a proper alternative, renewable energy source is found:

The Prioritization of Energy!

They are expecting Oil/Gas shortages in some parts of America this winter. Couple that with extremely high natural gas and coal prices and we have a serious situation. Especially when you consider that Global Warming is making each summer hotter and each winter colder. Also, because of the credit crisis transportation companies that ship food across the country will soon no longer be able to run. No profit = no business.

I'm still kind of amazed that Colorado hasn't been dealing NEARLY as much with the problems the rest of the country is dealing with, so THIS winter we might be lucky enough to only see the back-ends of all the problems that are lining up for the winter. BUT! We will get sucked into the vortex just like everyone else eventually.

So I am betting that if we don't see food, water, and energy shortages this winter, we will most definitely begin to see them in 2009!

Really...our only hope is technology.

We MUST come up with a self-sustained energy technology that is efficient, cheap, and can be mass-produced NOW. If we do not. I think that the Mayans could have been right. 2012 continues to become a plausible 'Dooms' Day more and more.

Prepare while you still have the opportunity to do so!
